Everyone is anxious and hopeful to return to normalcy in their day-to-day life free of the changes that this pandemic has brought upon us. Our collective efforts at suppressing the spread of this virus have proven to be effective in the past. Social distancing, avoiding unnecessary gatherings, wearing of face masks, and most importantly, FREQUENT HAND WASHING. I believe that this current surge in cases, hospitalizations, ICU utilization and deaths is from the general populous loosing their resolve or becoming relaxed in their compliance with CDC guidelines for prevention. It is a tricky balance trying to re-energize the economy without compromising on the safety efforts we all are familiar with by now. We must each make the decision to follow these guidelines with exactness and additionally enforce them within our family and social circles. If not, we will be faced with more governmental restrictions on travel, work, sports, socializing, and life as we know it.
Dig in deep. Find the motivation to do your part. Enforce the guidelines with friends, family and within your work place. There are no shortcuts. The gamble isn't worth the cost.
We will continue to practice our screening and protection measures at El Paso Head and Neck Surgery as outlined below for the indefinite future.
